Last night a comedian in ministry school was the speaker. He was really funny and had a sweet testimony. He also had a great story to share and some good inside ministry advice. Very good stuff.
A few months after coming to faith the Lord made it very clear that he needed to clear his schedule of those shows and places he didn't like to go to that were sort of dark places. So he called and canceled ALL of his bookings which was for many months way out, not something he would have done if not for it being so clear that was what the Lord wanted him to do.
He had no work for months and they had to rely soley on his wife's income which was not a easy thing to do. When it was about down to the hard wire and they had no money left, a wealthy couple came to his wife (not even Christians) and wanted her to be president of a dog club (his wife showed dogs (really nice ones) and told her to start looking for a really nice dog for them.
They also gave her a check for $5,000 so they had enough money for bills for the next few months just when they were about dirt broke! He said it wasn't long after that and the Lord really started blessing him with calls all over of people wanting to book him for acts at places he had always wanted to preform and that were not the places he hated to go to! He said ever since then he has never been without work and makes a lot more than he ever made before and works a lot less on the road, so he has time now to be with his wife and family.
