A few of the obstacles to over come in this ministry:
1) My lack of experience in doing anything of this size or magnitude
2) The fear of failure
3) Rasing support not only for my salary, but for an entire organization's foundation and financial needs.
4) Finding, training and paying a ministry staff team
5)
A existing support base of only a few hundred friends, family and
allies to initially ask to help financially support this ministry. Many
who do not have much to give.
6) Days of spiritually, emotional and physically feeling in the complete dumps
7)
The lure and temptation of the world to abandon this ministry and live
comfortably with a nice plush regular corporate job with less stress
and commitments and responsibilities. (I know this is only a lure of
the enemy, but he is good at tempting with it.)
8) Going into this
with just a spiritual sling shot. A sling shot that God shows us how to use, though small, is none the less very effective.
God knows what we will need to do what He calls us to do.
9)
No partner or ministry team by my side. (Although the Lord has blessed
me with a growing number of supportive and dear brothers who are
helping me and praying with me.)
10)
No map, company handbook or 123 step manual detailing what to do, just
reliance on God to reveal the steps to take and when. (Meaning a lot of
waiting, and building of faith muscles, good, but not fun to be tested
in continuously and often).
I like you, am just a average person. I am no one famous or some professional. Some of you may have greater obstacles in your path, and some of you may not.
All of us through in Christ have the potential to do great and amazing things in our lives. They may not come with out cost or sacrifice, but they are worth the cost.
We must first count the cost, but then be willing to pay the cost. When we are not willing, we must pray and ask God to help us in our unbelief.
Believe me when I say I have faced numerous doubts and lacked the faith to move forward, and I just have to keep asking Christ for the faith to do what I desire to do in Him.
I lacked the faith many times, but when we truly desire to seek and find that desired life in Christ, and realize that through Him we can find it, then it will become attainable.
What great battle lies ahead of your journey to fight?
What are you going to do today to start moving towards the great things you desire to do for God's will in you life, the purposes for your life?
If you don't know, then start there, finding out what they are.
This is a old blog entry from my old blog that I have posted to the new blog to help preserve the history of the ministry and the process it has gone through.
