Understanding The Life Map Model

The model outlined by our founder as he went through the process - now know as the life map model. It has since been considered similar to the process others have gone through using other terms or terminology, but is considered to be a universal model any believer can use for help in life and learning to walk with God into calling or vision.

Phase 1 - All of mankind starts here and most believers do not leave phase one.

* Heart - God draws us to Himself. The Holy Spirit starts to work in our heart. God uses people, circumstances and events to start getting our attention and drawing us to Him. We then by the prompting of the Holy Spirit must choose to respond and come to faith in Christ. God continues working in our heart. Salvation comes in phase one of the heart. Restoration comes in phase one of the heart. 

* Mind - Our heart starts to change when we come to faith, we were made new in Christ, given a new mind, the way we think starts to change. Our desires start to change. The heart and mind change together. This is phase one of the mind and only happens after phase one of the heart in salvation is completed. Phase two for deeper renewal of the mind continues either alongside or after phase two of the heart in most cases. Sometimes those who have more of a scientific way of thinking or intellectuals will start phase two of the renewal of the mind before phase two of the heart. 

* Vision (Direction) - As our heart and mind have been changed, our general direction(s) start to change too. Our life goals often start to change, and our motives for them always change. We once lived not for God, but now we start to live for God and our direction in life starts to change. This happens after phase one and two of the heart and mind have taken place. Phase two of vision in which it becomes more specific, targeted and revealed rarely happens until phase two of the heart and mind have been entered into and the person has walked in them for some time. 

Phase 2 - Few believers enter into phase two as it can only be entered into in walking with God on a deeper level. This almost always requires some level of discipleship from others who have walked in it first. 

* Heart - When we have been walking with God for a while, or a short while for some. In phase two Christ starts to work in us through the Holy Spirit for restoration in deep places of the heart and soul. In phase one we are forgiven and given eternal life having come to faith in Christ and given salvation. In phase two Christ begins a work of healing wounds and things in our hearts of which often are linked to fears and insecurities that are the result of wounds of the heart. In phase two freedom from habitual sin and the ability to find freedom and forgive others is expanded on and entered into. 

* Mind - The way we used to think has already changed, but now God begins to completely renew our mind. In phase two the person begins to learn to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. A biblical worldview solidifies and courage and faith grow in this phase. Realization and application of our spiritual gifts begin to flourish in phase two of the renewal of the mind. Those who have entered into phase two think from Kingdom perspective in nearly everything they do and think about. Every known visionary in Christendom through out history has been in this phase and they individual knows no vision too big or God and to step out in faith towards them. Once phase two of the heart and mind have been entered into and walked in with God for some time phase two of vision follows.

* Vision (Dreams/Targeted Calling) - Few believers make it to phase two of vision. This is the hardest part to get to and the most opposed. Once here the believer becomes to a serious threat to the enemies of God and will face challenges and obstacles greater than they have before. In this phase most people the believer expects to be supportive of them will not be because they are concerned the believer will fail or their vision or calling is to risky. Nothing can prepare the believer for this phase and the challenges that will come and the best way to prepare for it is to know it is coming and to surround themselves with others in this phase as best they can. The believer must be in intimate fellowship with God and is highly recommended to be in strong fellowship with others of like mind and heart. God brings others to help the believer in this phase and will use others not in it to help the believer at times.

DLM seeks to lead tens of thousands of men and women into phase two of the life map model areas of development in learning to walk with God and teach them how to lead millions more in to this message as well within their lifetime. It is with this model DLM aims to spread the message in which we believe God will raise up thousands of visionaries for the Kingdom of God simply in learning to walk with God on a deeper level.
